Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology (ICT) of Iran announced that the first test of technology of high-speed mobile Internet 5G has been successfully held in Iran with speed of 1,5 GBs per second (Gbit/s).
Having noted that at a stage of pilot testing of the project speed of 1,5 GBs per second was reached, he added: «5G also has considerable improvement in comparison with 4G in respect of data transmission delay as we could reduce a delay by 5-6 milliseconds in the course of this test».
Further the minister told that the speed of data exchange in a network 5G in the world theoretically makes from one to 20 GBs. «This speed is proportional to investments and other components, but the average value considered for speed 5G, will be from 1,5 to 2 GBs».
He repeated that trial tests in research centre of ICT will allow all interested sides in Iran, including other mobile operators, to bring a contribution to the project.
