120 citizens of Turkmenistan have crossed the Alat border point in the Bukhara Region, media reports.

According to the press service of the regional Khokimiyat, residents of Turkmenistan could not go home because of quarantine restrictions introduced in Uzbekistan due to the pandemic.

Citizens stranded in the territory of another country applied to the embassy of Turkmenistan in Tashkent. The diplomats decided the issue at the government level, and as a result, the parties were able to agree.

It is noted that there were eight minor children among those who returned to their homeland. Citizens were seen off by officials of government agencies dealing with this issue, and women were presented with flowers.
