101-year-old Iranian recovered from COVID-19

A 101-year-old Iranian old man who has become infected with coronavirus in Golestan province has recovered, Iranian media reported. He was sent to the medical center in early March with an acute respiratory illness, but upon medical examination and after analysis it became clear that he was infected with coronavirus. The other day he was discharged from the hospital after a full course of treatment.

It is also reported that the number of cases of coronavirus infection in Iran increased by 41,495, fatalities – by 2757, 13,911 cases of recovery were recorded. This was announced on Monday by the head of the PR department of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran Kiyanush Jahanpur.

“Over the past day, 3186 new cases of infection with coronavirus have been identified. The total number of infected has reached 41,495,” Jahanpur said at a press conference. According to him, 117 people have died in the last day. 3,511 patients with this diagnosis are in serious condition, Jahanpur said.

Iranian Deputy Minister of Health Alireza Reisi said that over 50 million Iranians were examined as part of a plan to identify citizens with signs of coronavirus infection.
