Turkmenistan and Dragon Oil company are mutually interested in developing oil and gas production cooperation into strategic partnership, report mass media of UAE referring to Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, minister of finance of UAE and chairman of board of Dragon Oil company.
The statement was made during the meeting with the Turkmen delegation led by deputy-prime minister for oil and gas industry Maksat Babayev, which took place at the end of last week in Dubai.
The prospects of interaction in fuel and energy complex and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation were the dominating topic of negotiations.
The meeting discussed the potential for investment partnerships between the governments of Dubai and Turkmenistan, particularly in the oil and gas sector.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Deputy Chairman of Dragon Oil, Ambassador of UAE to Turkmenistan Hassan Abdullah Al Adhab and Serdarmammet Garadjayev, Turkmen Ambassador to the UAE attended the meeting.
During last Friday Cabinet meeting it was reported about upcoming official visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov to UAE, which will determine the further vector of cooperation for long-term period.
Until now, Dragon Oil, subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company, invested to offshore fields the Cheleken Contract Area, over US $ 5.9 billion.
